Russian cyclist Nikita Kiriltsev told he usually assumes where he is at against his rivals on the international stage, and also spoke about adapting to speeds at the World Junior Championships.
Kiriltsev won the keirin and the sprint at the world championships in Cali, Colombia.
“Nikita, how did it go?” Did the adaptation in Colombia affect you in general and the new track in particular?
The flight was quite long, it took a bit of energy from me. The track here is beautiful and overall I think we were successful. As expected, it happened. Emotionally, yes, of course. I pretty much imagined what results I can show.
– In what form was it more difficult?
– If you think about it like that, it was a bit harder in the sprint, there were a lot of races.
– Were you afraid, when you flew to Colombia, that the speeds would be very high?
– The guys are really faster than expected, but they adapted and I managed.
– Of which victory more emotions?
“Keirin had the most emotions. I didn’t expect it to be so easy in the final, Kiriltsev told .
