Dynamo Moscow head coach Konstantin Ushakov says the team’s volleyball players are determined to win the Russian championship again, despite being deprived of the chance to play in the Champions League.
Currently, Russian volleyball clubs and teams have been suspended from international competitions by decision of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) due to the situation in Ukraine.
In the 2022/23 season, Dynamo won their eighth Russian league title and the first since 2019.
– Do the players have the motivation to win the championship again without the possibility of participating in the Champions League?
– They are top players, and they themselves are very ambitious in life – whatever they do, they are used to achieving maximum results. There is no question about motivation. We just need to connect all this with the new volleyball players in the team so that they understand the requirements and, above all, fulfill them, so that the game improves and takes on the look that we would like to see. Dynamo Moscow volleyball players will start the season on September 1 with a match against Dynamo Krasnodar in the preliminary round of the Russian Volleyball Centenary Cup.
