“With no national team matches, Russian volleyball clubs have more time to improve the quality of the game” – Zinichev

The general director of Dynamo (Moscow) women’s volleyball club Vladimir Zinichev said that Russian clubs will have more time to play during summer training due to the fact that the Russian team is forced not to participate in international tournaments during this period.

Currently, Russian volleyball clubs and teams have been suspended from international competitions by decision of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) due to the situation in Ukraine.

We are optimists! If our team (the Russian national team) now took part in the European Championship, then the whole team would not be sitting here (at the Dynamo press conference). Of course it’s a joke, but in every joke there is some truth. That’s not to say we’re happy with our non-participation (in international competitions), of course not – we’re looking for good things here. We’re going to play well and improve the quality of the game – we never had enough time for that. There is now a little more time. We hope that this will not only affect the quality of our game, but also other teams in the Russian championship, ” correspondent reports in Zinichev’s words.
