Barkom-Kazhany entered the Polish Plus League
President of the Volleyball Federation of Ukraine Mykhailo Melnyk told which Ukrainian clubs will play in foreign championships next season.
Women’s team Prometheus will perform in the elite division of the Czech Republic. Male Epicenter-Podoliany plans to enter the Polish First League. Also in Poland will play Barkom-Kazhanywho signed a cooperation agreement with the Polish Plus League.
“Prometheus will play in the Czech Extraliga. Yes, it’s official, I lobbied for this issue, the answer has already come from the Czechs. The main Prometheus is 80-90% of the Ukrainian women’s team, the coaches are the same. They will be based in the Czech Republic, the city of Kutna Hora. Prometheus announces 28 players – some play here, others there,” Melnik said.
“Barkom-Kazhans are declared in the Polish Plus League, we gave them permission, sent [письмо] to the Polish federation, which is not against it. Well now, I don’t think it will be like that, but if they don’t show up, then we will withdraw that letter – if they don’t recognize us, then we won’t recognize them. That is how it should be. There is a desire, there is an opportunity – play, but it’s like an extra.
“Epicenter, according to unconfirmed reports, will play in the Polish championship, but not in the Plus League, but in the lower league (First League). But there is a decent enough level.
In May, the Volleyball Federation of Ukraine officially approved the decision to end the season early due to the full-scale Russian invasion of the country, which continues for the 122nd day. The winner of the men’s championship was Epicenter-Podoliany, the women’s – Prometheus.
