Averbukh urged the media ‘not to brag and hurt anyone’ in the situation with figure skater Gorbacheva

Choreographer Ilya Averbukh in a conversation with a correspondent, he called on media representatives not to brag and hurt anyone in a situation with a 16-year-old figure skater Alina Gorbacheva .

On Tuesday evening, the Investigative Commission of the Russian Federation reported that Russian junior champion Gorbachev was taken to a subdivision of the Investigative Commission in Moscow with the participation of a legal representative and a psychologist. On Monday evening, the figure skater left the ice rink at the Chkalov Arena and did not return home.

“First of all, I’m just humanly very happy with this good news. Alina Gorbacheva skated with me on tour. It was her trainer who asked me to support Alina and take her on tour to gain experience and compete alongside great champions. That’s basically what I did. In a number of cities on the tour, Alina did very well. The public received it wonderfully.

When I put together a program for Matvey Vetlugin, I did it on the very ice where Alina was training. Therefore, for several days I witnessed the respect with which Sofia Fedchenko coached Alina in the offseason. From what I saw, it was very productive work. A wonderful collaboration between a very ambitious and talented young coach and a talented and ambitious young figure skater. I am therefore very satisfied with this resolution of the situation.

I think the most correct thing the press can do right now is tell everyone it’s okay and don’t puff it up, don’t brag, don’t hurt anybody. We are supporting everyone, we are moving forward,” Averbukh told .

Gorbacheva is the winner of the Russian Junior Championship in 2023. The athlete works with coach Sofia Fedchenko.
