The Portuguese will spend the second season in a row away from the London club
Nottingham Forest And Arsenal finally agreed on the terms of the loan of the left-back Nuno Tavaresa. It is expected that the Portuguese will become a Lesnikov player today.
Under the deal, Nottingham will pay around £2m for the 23-year-old’s one-year loan. Also included in the deal is a full buyout option for 12 million in the same currency. Previously, the player has already agreed in principle to the transfer.
Together with Tavares, the Foresters also sign the Brazilian defender Murillo from Corinthians (amount – 15 million euros).
Tavares joined Arsenal from Benfica in 2021 and made 28 appearances for the Gunners during his first season (1 goal, 2 assists). With the arrival of the Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko, he did not have a place in the team of Mikel Arteta.
Nuno spent last season on loan in Marseille, where he was partnered with another Ukrainian, Ruslan Malinovsky, since the winter. As part of the Provencal club, the Portuguese fullback played 39 matches and scored 6 goals.
Despite a successful season, as well as the recent departure of Kieran Tierney to Real Sociedad, Tavares was not needed this summer by the Spanish coach of the Gunners. Thus, at the moment, Zinchenko has no profile competitors left in the left-back position.
Nottingham have three points and are 14th in the Premier League. Arsenal are in fifth place with seven points. The Gunners will host Manchester United on September 3rd.
