Canoeist Zakhar Petrov wins the 1000m at the Goodwill Cup in Moscow

The first medalists of the rowing and canoeing competitions of the Goodwill Cup, which started on the Moscow Rowing Channel, have been determined.

In single canoeing over a distance of 1000 meters, the Russian champion Zakhar Petrov won, second place was taken by the bronze medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games, Russian Ilya Pervukhin, Ivan Potapenko from Belarus took bronze.

In men’s single kayak, Belarusians Vladislav Kravets and Oleg Yurenya won gold and silver in the 1000m distance, Russia’s Maksim Spesivtsev, World Championship bronze medalist, finished third.

In the women’s kayak-two at a distance of 500 meters, the gold, silver and bronze medals were won by representatives of Belarus Olga Khudenko/Marina Litvinchuk, Veronika Leonyuk/Maria Kovalenko and Elizaveta Vilkova/Vladislava Skriganova . In the two-man canoe at a distance of 500 meters, the Belarusians also took the podium – Angelina Bardanovskaya / Olga Klimova, Elena Nozdreva / Maria Popichich, Yulia Trushkina / Eva Danilchuk.
