Ursula Papandrea (USA) was elected first vice-president of the organization, Peter Krol (Czech Republic), Pirros Dimas (Greece), Doris Soraida Marrero Travieso (Venezuela) and Attila Tamas Adamfi (Hungary) were elected vice-presidents .
Earlier, Agapitov withdrew from the election of the President and Secretary General-Treasurer of the IWF, who were respectively the representative of Iraq, Mohammed Hassan Jaloud Al-Shammari and the Peruvian Jose Carlos Quiñones González.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has already granted appeals by Agapitov, Alexander Kishkin and Dmitry Chernogorov against the decision of the Special Committee on Admission of the International Weightlifting Federation (EDP IWF) to bar the appointment of candidates for the Board of Directors bodies of the IWF.
