Wife of the double Olympic champion Yevgenia Plushenko Yana Rudkovskaya, co-owner of the Angela Plushenko Academy, expressed her attitude to the situation that happened to the figure skater Alina Gorbacheva .
Russian junior champion Gorbacheva disappeared Monday evening in Moscow, left the Chkalov Arena ice rink and did not return home. According to the media, before that, the 16-year-old athlete quarreled with coach Sofya Fedchenko, with whom she has been living lately. On Tuesday evening, Gorbachev was found by the police in the cinema of one of the shopping centers. According to preliminary information, no illegal actions were committed against the athlete. At present, nothing threatens his life and health.
– Firstly, talented young athletes do not simply run away from home (despite the fact that Alina calls the apartment where she lives with her coach, and not her parents, home). Something very serious has happened since the girl took such a step. Something happened, and we need a separate investigation into the reasons, we need to figure out separately: what exactly prompted the child to run away. Naturally, she understood that they would be looking for her, but she was in such a state, apparently, when it was the same. In other words, I categorically do not believe that she took it from scratch and ran away, without a serious reason.
Second, I (and not just me) have some obvious questions to ask my parents and coach. And as a mother and as someone who develops figure skating for children in the country. Why is the girl brought to such a state? Why doesn’t she live with her family? Who is she so afraid of?
Children who play professional sports are not as sociable as others. Sometimes they only see the rink. Every morning, classes, constant training, training camps, competitions. And these children need a special approach. They need protection, they need understanding, and you can’t be categorically rigid about them, especially at a transitional age. They cannot be punished physically, nor tormented morally.
Thank God everything ended so well, Alina was not injured, she was found. But it could have been otherwise. Someone could take advantage of this situation and commit a crime against her. It is now a call to the whole of society: children must be heard. Do not follow their example, but be as loyal as possible.
I wish Alina peace of mind and a sense of security. Now you have to stay a strong athlete, work, train, aim for your result. So that no one poisons her, touches her or remembers this situation. It is necessary to protect her as much as possible from communication with equally toxic adults or angry teenagers, because here the second problem may arise. Children can be very cruel,” Rudkovskaya wrote on the Telegram channel.
