President of the Ukrainian Premier League Eugene Wild reported that official documents on the withdrawal from the championship of Ukraine from Metalista 1925 not received.
“Yes, we are in dialogue with the club. As of now, there has been no official statement from Metallist 1925 regarding withdrawal from the championship.
“The rules of the competition stipulate that if a team of the competition is withdrawn, if it has played less than 50% of the matches, the results will be canceled,” Dykyi said.
Previously, the owners of Metallist 1925, the AES Group, announced the termination of funding for the football club. The company’s business was completely destroyed by the missile strikes of the Russian army.
It was also reported that the team could be completely disbanded. Football players have allegedly already been offered to look for new teams.
Metalist 1925 is ninth in the UPL with 6 points. The next match of the Kharkiv team is scheduled with Rukh on September 3rd.
