The blue-yellows won the first set but lost the next three
Men’s national volleyball team of Ukraine started with a defeat Slovenia on European Championship 2023 – 1:3.
The team of Ugis Krastiņš won the first set – 25:23. However, later the Slovenes equalized the score, and the last two games won by a margin of five points.
Earlier, the Ukrainian national team lost three times in test matches before the European Championship. The blue-yellows lost twice to Estonia (2:3, 1:3), and then lost to Poland (2:3) in a tense struggle.
The European Men’s Championship takes place in Italy, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Israel from 28 August to 16 September. In the group round, Ukraine will play Croatia (August 31), Bulgaria (September 2), Finland (September 4) and Spain (September 5) in the group round.
