Today she and her sister will fight in doubles
Duet Ukrainian Lyudmila Kichenok and Pole Yana Zelinski lost to the eighth seed of the tournament in the 1/16 finals US Open.
The meeting lasted exactly one hour. Tandem Yang Zhaoxuan / Kevin Kravitz (China / Germany) lost the first set. The Ukrainian-Polish couple defeated the opponents on their serve twice and got the victory 6:2.
In the second game, the situation was mirrored – with the difference that Lyudmila and her partner managed to take only one game. Everything was decided in a tie-break, where Jan and Kravitz celebrated the victory 10:5.
Lyudmila Kichenok did not stop participating in the US Open on this. Already today, on August 31 (at 21:00 Kyiv time), she, together with her longtime partner Elena Ostapenko, will face the Venezuelan-Spanish pair Andrea Gamis / Sarah Sorribes-Tormo in the first round of doubles.
Her sister, Nadezhda Kichenok, an hour and a half earlier, paired with Danielle Collins (USA) will fight the duo Storm Hunter / Elise Mertens (Australia / Belgium).
