“The suspension of international competitions is not good for Russian volleyball players” – Tetyukhin

The absence of international matches with top rivals does not benefit the Russian men’s volleyball team, the national team’s general manager told . Sergei Tetiukhin .

In June, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) extended the suspension of teams and athletes from Russia and Belarus from international competitions. On August 29 and 30, the national teams of Russia and Belarus played two friendly matches in Moscow, won by the Russian volleyball players by the same score 3-0.

– The most important thing is that the Russian team played two matches in front of our fans. The result was not important, what mattered was the process itself at the moment, the fact that the team was together. The retro match was particularly interesting, it was great, there was a volleyball festival. Everyone saw that we had a team, great guys who are ready to go further. Sooner or later those doors will open and we will keep playing.

– Does the absence of international tournaments already affect the class of our team for the second year?

” Yes of course. When we play, we grow. The stronger the adversary, the more actively we grow. And we didn’t compete with our top rivals for the second year, it’s not good for us. But we have the still normal Russian championship, maintained at a good level. Here, thanks to club volleyball, our guys are growing up. Nothing, everything will be fine, – said Tetyukhin “”.
