Ukraine wins gold in highlight at FINA World Championships

Ukrainian women defended the title of world champions

National team of Ukraine in artistic swimming won gold in highlight on the 2022 World Aquatics Championshipswhich takes place in Budapest.

Ukrainian athletes took first place with a score of 95.0333 points and defended the title of world champions in highlighting. Recall that Ukraine won gold in this sport at the world championship in Gwangju in 2019.

As part of the Ukrainian national team Vladislava and Marina Alekseeva, Olesya Derevyanchenko, Veronika Grishko, Marta Fedina, Sofia Matsievskaya, Daria Moshinskaya, Angelina Ovchinnikova, Anastasia Shmonina and Valeria Tishchenko.

The 2022 Highlight World Championship silver was won by Italy (92.2667). The bronze medalist was the Spanish team (91.3333).

For Ukraine, this is the second gold medal at the championship in Budapest. Earlier, Ukrainian women became world champions in artistic swimming in combination.

In total, the Ukrainian team has already won eight medals at the 2022 World Championships: seven in artistic swimming and one in swimming (Mikhail Romanchuk, bronze in the 800-meter freestyle).
