Athletistic/ Others. The head of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR), Mikhail Mamiashvili, hopes that the winners of the country’s freestyle wrestling championship will go on to the world championship. The competition will take place in Serbia.
“We hope that common sense will prevail, that the wrestling community will rise above political pressure, show independence, and our strongest wrestlers will perform at the World Championships in Serbia in September.
We are doing everything we can for that, but a lot depends on the overall situation,” Mamiashvili was quoted as saying by TASS.
The World Wrestling Championship will take place from September 10 to 18, 2022 in Belgrade.
