Ukrainian beach volleyball team formally withdrew from European League 2023. The reason is the presence of a command there The Republic of Belaruswhich the organizers allowed to perform under their own symbols.

The leadership of the Beach Football Association of Ukraine (APFU) issued an official statement:

“The Beach Soccer Association of Ukraine in recent months has been trying to do everything in our power so that the Ukrainian national team can represent our country in this tournament. But there is an order of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine #4435 dated July 26, 2023, prohibiting participation in international competitions, where athletes or teams representing the Russian Federation and Belarus also take part.

The mentioned decree assumes strict observance of the neutral status of athletes from Russia and Belarus, as well as the inadmissibility of their belonging to these countries.

The national team of Ukraine is the champion of the Euroleague-2016 and the bronze medalist of 2020.

The 2023 European Beach Soccer League matches will take place in Alghero, Italy from 9 to 14 September.
