The second defeat of the blue-yellows in the group
Men’s national volleyball team of Ukraine played the second match at the European Championship 2023. The team of Ugis Krastins lost Croatia – 2:3.
The blue-yellows confidently won the first set (25:17), but the second game was left for the Croats. In the third and fourth sets, the teams also exchanged victories.
The fate of the fight was decided in a tie-break. The Ukrainians were leading 9:7, but they missed the advantage and lost 13:15.
This is the second defeat of Ukraine at Euro 2023. At the start of the championship, Krastins’ team lost to Slovenia – 1:3.
In the group round, Ukraine will have to play three more matches: with Bulgaria (September 2), Finland (September 4) and Spain (September 5). The four best teams from the group will advance to the playoffs of the European Championship.
