American track and field athlete Sydney McLaughlin sets a new world record for the 400m hurdles in 51.41 seconds.
The feat was beaten at the US Championship, which takes place in Eugene (Oregon).
The previous world record also belonged to McLaughlin – at the Tokyo Olympics she won gold at this distance with a score of 51.46.
Thanks to her performance and victory in the American championship, 22-year-old McLaughlin qualified for the world championship, which will be held in July in the same Eugene.
