Russian junior champion in women’s singles Alina Gorbacheva it will be difficult to return to sport after the disappearance situation, according to sports psychologist Felix Shifrin.
Gorbachev disappeared on Monday evening in Moscow, she left the rink and did not return home. According to sources, the 16-year-old athlete had a fight that day with coach Sofia Fedchenko. On Tuesday evening, the figure skater was found by the police in the cinema of one of the shopping centers. On Wednesday, Gorbacheva announced on the social network that her act was not related to figure skating or the coach.
“Coming back to sport can be difficult. The first step is to provide her with support and the opportunity to talk about her feelings and experiences. Then, if she decides to return to training (and it should be her decision), the coach and psychologist should carefully develop a plan for recovery and preparation for skating tests, Felix Shifrin told the Championship.
Skating tests for Russian national team skaters will take place on September 16 and 17 in Moscow.
