Dnepr-1 left the Conference League
Acting head coach of Dnipro-1 Valery Gorodov commented on the defeat Spartak Trnava (1:2) in the second leg of the playoffs of the Conference League qualification.
“Many thanks to all the fans who supported us, as well as to the staff of the arena in Kosice. We are very upset. As for the game, I will say that it is very difficult to play two matches in a row, and also 120 minutes in the minority, but the players did their best.
In the return match, Dnipro-1 lost to Spartak Trnava in extra time. The winning goal came in the 106th minute: Martin Bukata scored. It should be noted that the Dnipro team ended the match with nine players after Ruslan Babenko and Oleg Gorin were sent off.
Dnepr-1 completed the European Cup campaign. The vice-champion of Ukraine first lost to Panathinaikos in the Champions League qualification, then lost to Slavia Prague in the Europa League qualification, and now Spartak could not pass in the Conference League.
