American swimmer Ress was disqualified, winning World Cup gold, then surrendering victory

American swimmer justin ress won the 50m backstroke, which is reflected in the official protocol of the World Aquatic Championships in Budapest.

Ress won that distance with a score of 24.12 seconds, teammate Hunter Armstrong (24.14) became second, but then Ress was disqualified for breaking the rules at the finish line, and his compatriot went to gold.

However, after the award, where Armstrong received gold, the disqualification was overturned. As a result, Ress was again declared the winner.

Poland’s Ksavery Masiuk managed to clinch the prize money and later also fell one line back.
