Athletes from Russia and Belarus are not officially allowed to participate in the Asian Games

Another loophole at the Olympics 2024 for representatives of the aggressor countries is closed

International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided not to allow athletes with Russian and Belarusian passports to participate in Asian Games.

Many Russians and Belarusians planned to use this opportunity to qualify for the 2024 Olympics, but the IOC said that this idea was “impossible for technical reasons.”

Recall, earlier it was reported that the organizers of the Asian Games-2023 allowed athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in the competition. The Asian Olympic Committee (OCA), which had previously officially invited Russians and Belarusians to the games, was waiting for a “green light” from the IOC. The governing body eventually decided to deny this admission.

Recall that the European Games 2023 were held without athletes representing a terrorist country and an accomplice of terrorism.

The Asian Games, which will be held from September 23 to October 8 in Hangzhou, China, were the last real chance for many athletes from these countries to win licenses for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. At this tournament, Olympic quotas in some major sports will be played.
