Ukrainian paired with Maximo Gonzalez won the first set, but lost the next two games
Ukrainian tennis player Hope Kichenok lost in the first round of mixed doubles by US Open 2023.
The Ukrainian performed together with the Argentinean Maximo Gonzalez. Their opponents were Ena Shibahara from Japan and Croat Mate Pavic. The duel lasted an hour and a half.
The first set in the tie-break was won by Kichenok and Gonzalez. In the second set, Shibahara and Pavich won with two breaks. At the super tie-break, Kichenok and Gonzalez won back one lost serve, but did not hold it again.
Earlier, Nadezhda Kichenok was eliminated in the second round of the US Open doubles. The Ukrainian, along with Danielle Collins from the United States, defeated the second seeded Australian Storm Hunter and Elise Mertens from Belgium in the first match, but then lost to German Tatiana Maria and Arancha Rus from the Netherlands.
