Yaroslava with a personal record of the season won the stage of the Diamond League in China
high jumper Yaroslav Maguchy commented on her victory at the stage Diamond League in Xiamen, China. The Ukrainian set a personal record of the season and repeated the best result in the season in the world – 2.02 m.
“I tuned in to jump over 2.00 m. Now I have my own season record – 2.02 m on the first try. But after 2.02 meters, my legs said that it was enough for today, that I most likely would not be able to do it right [прыгнуть]. Therefore, we completed the competition, ”said Yaroslava.
“There are two starts ahead, where I want to perform as high as possible. Of course, I can’t live without nerves – 1.95 m on the third attempt, but the last one was so easy … I don’t know, something around this height [проблемы] last time. But it’s okay, we’ll fix it.”
Maguchikh qualified ahead of schedule for the Diamond League Superfinal, which will be held in Eugene, USA on September 16-17. Earlier, another Ukrainian jumper, Irina Gerashchenko, was selected for the final competition.
This season, Maguchih won the fourth medal at the stages of the Diamond League, including the second gold medal. The Ukrainian became the world champion at the last competitions in Budapest.
