The Briton bets on Fury in a possible duel against the Ukrainian champion
Former world boxing champion Johnny Nelson stated that the WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury will defeat the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
“Let me make my point clear: I always thought that Tyson Fury would beat Oleksandr Usyk. I’m willing to bet that Tyson watched Usyk vs Daniel Dubois and thought: “Give me this fight!” Now all of a sudden there might be talk of their meeting.
It looks like the only person who thought Fury wasn’t going to beat Usyk was Tyson himself. Arrange this duel – Fury will fight him and do his job. Usyk is an incredible fighter, but he can be beaten.
If you look at the shot that Usyk missed, he reacted instinctively, he didn’t have time to think about it. So he was shocked. He can be damaged, he is vulnerable to body blows,” Nelson said.
The teams of Usyk and Fury continue negotiations for a fight for the title of absolute world champion. The potential date for a face-to-face meeting between Tyson and Alexander is January 27, 2024.
In his last fight, Usyk defeated Daniel Dubois and defended his titles. The Ukrainian knocked out the Briton after another accurate blow in the ninth round.
Fury’s next fight will be against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. The fight is scheduled for October 28 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
