Three-time Olympic figure skating champion Irina Rodnina believes that Alena Kostornaya can prove themselves in pair skating.
The partner of the 20-year-old athlete is Georgy Kunitsa.
– Kostornaya’s desire to continue competing is commendable. Not everyone will find the strength to take on a new challenge. I can’t say this is a one-time phenomenon – the transition of a single pair skater, but it doesn’t happen every day. Alena can shine in pair skating, she is a talented and graceful girl. Kostornaya is European champion (2020), winner of the Grand Prix final of the 2019/2020 season, as well as a silver (2020) and twice bronze (2018, 2019) medalist of the Russian single skating championships .
