King wins 200m breaststroke at World Championships in Budapest

World record holder Lilly King won the 200m breaststroke at the World Aquatic Championships, held in Budapest.

King (USA) won in 2:22.41, Australia’s Jenna Strauch was second in 2:23.04 and Kate Douglas (USA) was third in 2:23.20.

Australian Molly O’Callaghan (52.67) won the 100m freestyle, followed by Sweden’s Sarah Sjöström (52.80) and American Torri Huske third (52.92).

Ryan Murphy (USA) won the 200m backstroke in 1:54.52, Luke Greenbank won silver (1:55.16) and Shane Casas (USA) won bronze in 1:55.35. In the 200 breaststroke, Australia’s Zach Stablety-Cook (2:07.07) won, followed by Japan’s Yu Hanaguruma and Sweden’s Erik Persson (2:08.38), and Japan’s Ruyi Mura third (2:08.86).

In the men’s 4 x 200 m freestyle relay, the American team won (7:00.24), the Australian team was second in 7:03.50, the British were third – 7:04.00.
