Averbukh considers the collapse of the Pasechnik/Nekrasov dance duo a loss for the Russian team

The breakup of the duo Elizaveta Pasechnik And Maxim Nekrasova “This is a loss for the Russian figure skating team and another blow for Russian ice dancing,” Olympic medalist and choreographer Ilya Averbukh told .

On Tuesday, the Russian Figure Skating Federation announced that Pasechnik and Nekrasov had stopped playing together.

– This is the second hard blow to our dance. The first hard blow was the breakup of the Kaganovskaïa/Angelopol couple. The Pasechnik/Nekrasov pair is the second strong pair, which made a surprising impression last season, especially in the free skate. In my opinion, they were underestimated and could have held higher positions. This is very sad news. It’s a loss for the Russian team who, of course, were a promising duo. I expected even more from them this season, but this is a real blow for our team. This means that we now have to focus all our attention on the juniors,” Averbukh told .

Previously, Pasechnik and Nekrasov were included in the Russian national team for the 2023/24 season. The duo won bronze at the Russian Championships in 2023.
