The blue-and-yellows scored ten goals against their opponents
Ukrainian men’s futsal team started with a crushing victory over Belgium in the elite round of selection World Cup 2024.
Alexander Kosenko’s team left no chance for the opponent in the away match, scoring ten goals. Daniil Abakshin scored a hat-trick, Alexander Pedyash scored a double, and Petr Shoturma, Nazar Shved, Andrey Melnik, Igor Korsun and Artem Farenyuk scored another goal each.
Ukraine will play its next match in qualifying group B against Poland on September 20. The fight will take place in Hungary. Another rival of the blue-yellows is Serbia.
The winners of the five groups of the elite round of qualification will advance to the 2024 World Championships. The four best second place holders will play in the qualifying playoffs, where they will compete for two more tickets.
The Futsal World Cup will be held in Uzbekistan from September 14 to October 6, 2024.
