Czech figure skater Tsimlova about the breakup of the duet with Chirisano: “Russia did not let Dario compete for the Czech Republic and Italy”

Czech figure skater Denisa Tsimlova wrote on social networks that her duet with the Russian Dario Chirisano collapsed due to the fact that the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) did not allow the athlete to compete for the Czech Republic or Italy.

On Friday, Chirisano, who practices ice dancing, announced the end of her collaboration with Tsimlova.

“It’s really sad and difficult for us, because we were looking forward to presenting our programs in the competition.” But unfortunately, the Russian Federation did not let Dario play for the Czech Republic or Italy. That’s why we can’t play together. It’s a shock for us.

I will support Dario in his future in Russia and, of course, we remain friends. “I will continue to look for a new partner,” Tsimlova wrote.

Cirisano is a Russian figure skater of Italian origin. Since 2018, he has competed for Russia with Irina Khavronina; in January 2023, the duo broke up. Soon the skater found a new partner, Tsimlova, and the Czech association turned to their Russian colleagues about the transfer of Chirisano to their flag. In May, Chirisano received a refusal from the FFKKR to come under the auspices of the Czech Federation.
