Barcelona on the club’s official website announced the extension of the contract with the team’s head coach Javi Hernandez. The agreement with the mentor runs until June 30, 2025, with an option to extend for another season.
Xavi became head coach of the Catalan team in November 2021. At the head of the blue garnets, he played 96 matches: 60 wins, 17 draws and 19 losses.
Under Xavi’s leadership, Barcelona won the Primera Liga and the Spanish Super Cup. The mentor claims to be the best coach of 2023 according to FIFA.
Barcelona is in second place in La Liga with 13 points. The blue garnets kicked off the 2023/24 Champions League with a crushing victory over Antwerp (5:0). Xavi’s next match will see Celta Vigo on September 23.
