Athletistic/Others. Two-time Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov commented on the statement of the President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov regarding the requirements of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the participation of Russian athletes in the Paris Olympic Games.

“The athletes who decided to participate in the previous Olympics were not guilty of anything. The situation has changed since the start of the anti-doping program. This is quite a long period. Of course, it is a shame for the guys who were preparing for the Olympic Games. I hope that the decision will be in favor of reason, sport and its principles. However, it is difficult to accept restrictions. I said earlier that we must decide immediately: the return to the Olympic movement only with the flag “and the anthem, in order to avoid various tightenings and opinions according to which one will be approved first, then the other. I don’t know what the new additional conditions are, but in this situation they seem unacceptable,” Fetisov told SE.
