The midfielder is out for several weeks
Head coach Girona Michel commented on the injury of the Ukrainian midfielder Viktor Tsygankov. The coach stressed that the Ukrainian’s injury is a “significant loss.”
“The loss of Tsygankov is very important for us. However, we have an excellent selection of players and have someone to replace Victor. This is a significant loss, but we are able to solve it.”
Tsygankov will miss about a month due to a hamstring tear. Victor will therefore miss matches Ukrainian national team with North Macedonia and Malta in the qualification for Euro 2024.
The winger was injured in the match with Real Madrid in the 8th round of Examples (0:3). This season, Tsygankov has played in 8 matches for Girona, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
Girona is in third place in the Spanish Championship. The next match the white-red will play on October 7 away against Cadiz.
