Falcon defeated Trident in the opening match of the 3rd round Ukrainian hockey championship.
In the first period, Trizub managed to hold back the onslaught of their eminent opponent. The championship newcomer missed only one goal.
In the second and third 20 minutes, Sokol left no chance for the debutants, scoring nine more goals. Denis Boroday scored a hat-trick, Vladimir Cherdak and Sergei Babinets scored a brace each.
Sokol leads the Ukrainian Championship standings. Trizub suffered a third devastating defeat at the start of the season. The championship newcomer has not yet scored a single goal, conceding 27 goals.
On Sunday, October 8, Kremenchug – Dnepr and Kharkov Berserkers – Kyiv Capitals will play as part of the national championship.
