World Open Water Swimming Championships medalist Drattsev has announced his retirement

Open Water Swimming World Cup Medalist Yevgeny Dratsev announced his retirement from the sport.

Because of Drattsev, 39 years old, five medals in four world championships in water sports, three medals in the world championships in open water swimming, a victory in the Argentine Grand Prix.

“The decision to end my career was not easy, but in my case I don’t have enough motivation to compete at the level of the Russian championship and Cups,” Dratsev told .

Dratsev was the last active Russian swimmer to participate in the first open water Olympic Games (Beijing 2008).
