Olympic cross-country ski champion Veronica Stepanova sarcastically described the decision of the International Olympic Committee as ridiculous (CIO ) on the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee (OCD ).
The IOC on Thursday suspended the ROC’s membership until further notice due to the inclusion of the Olympic councils of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions in the Russian organization. According to the IOC, the ROC thus “violated the Olympic Charter”.
— I was ramping up in preparation for the Olympics, but the “clouds in my pants” at the IOC decided they could not only suspend me, but also OCD. Suspended twice, it’s funny,” Stepanova wrote in Telegram channel publishing a video with a fragment of his training.
Stepanova won gold at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing in the relay.
