Athletistic/ Figure Skating. USSR Honored Figure Skating Coach Tatyana Tarasova commented on recent rumors that Russian figure skaters Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin, performing in ice dancing, will move to the US team.
“And who wrote all this gossip about Diana and Gleb? The gossip wrote, they should be ashamed. Diana and Gleb were, are and will remain a Russian couple in figure skating,” Tarasova said.
Inside about Smolkin and Davis’ transition to the United States was first published by American journalist Dave Lees, who reported on the pair’s viewing at the US Figure Skating Association (USFS). The skaters really performed a skate in front of USA referee Sean Rettstat, but that skate was no show for Diana and Gleb to join Team USA.
