Athletistic/Mountaineering. The head coach of the Russian mountaineering team, Pavel Shabalin, confirmed to RIA Novosti that Russian Nadezhda Oleneva died in Nepal.

As the Russian Mountaineering Federation reported on its website, Oleneva, together with Roman Abildaev and Rasim Kashapov, climbed Mount Dhaulagiri in Nepal. On Saturday morning, the group left the camp at an altitude of 6,050 meters and after 4 hours reached an altitude of 6,700 meters, where they began to restore the tent site. A few minutes later, climbers reported that Oleneva had fallen.

“It’s true, Nadezhda has died. The question of transporting the body is now being decided,” Shabalin said.
