“We were a little sick, but given our condition, everything was normal.” Khavronina and Narizhny – about second place at the Russian Grand Prix stage

Skaters Irina Khavronina And David Narizhny after second place at the Russian Grand Prix in Ufa, they said they were a little ill, but skated well for their condition.

On Sunday, the dance duo Khavronina/Narizhny took second place on the stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Ufa, earning a total of 196.68 points in two performances. The first place was taken by Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva/Egor Bazin (206.75), the third by Sofya Leontyeva/Daniil Gorelkin (186.78).

— What is your mood today?

Khavronin: Overall good. The rental was a success. At this stage of preparation, everything is fine.

Narizhny: Everything was fine. I won’t say it was the easiest or most difficult performance. It’s only the beginning of the season. Normal and functional rental. We didn’t show anything supernatural.

Khavronin: We did it. We were just a little sick, so everything was normal for our condition.

– How do you feel now?

Khavronin: Everything is fine. A little tired.

— It’s only the beginning of the season and David looks very tired.

Khavronin: If we take it from the skates, then in two weeks we had competitions in St. Petersburg, and a week later in Ufa. We have a three-step journey. There will now be a one-month break. We will perform on the fifth stage in Samara. There will be time to take a short break from skating and correct any mistakes.

— Have you achieved the goals you set for this tournament?

Khavronin: In general, yes. Of course, the goals are always the highest. But at this point we are happy with ourselves.

— How did you manage to get in the mood after yesterday to go out and skate with an emotionally clean slate?

Narizhny: Sasha Boykova helped us.

Khavronin: We communicate with Dima and Sasha. She sent me a message: “Why are you crying there? In general, everything is fine! Are you upset because of the support? Yesterday I cried while driving to the hotel, I screamed my pain. When I arrived, I ate and slept. It’s always like that in the free skate – I don’t remember what happened yesterday. There were no upheavals,” reports the correspondent according to the skaters’ comments.
