The Ukrainian women’s handball team won its first victory in the 2024 European Championship qualification

In the second round of the group stage, the Ukrainian team beat the Slovak team

Ukrainian women’s handball team beat Slovakia in the 2nd round match qualifying stage on European Championship 2024.

Vitaly Andronov’s team played the match confidently, quickly taking the lead and not allowing their opponents to turn the game around.

The Slovak handball players stayed on equal terms for a significant part of the first half, but at the end of it the Ukrainians managed to break away by 5 points.

After the break, our athletes held the threads of the game in their hands, not allowing their opponents to close the gap. The final victory allowed the Ukrainian team to match points with Germany, to which it had previously lost with a score of 24:31.

The next match in the qualifying tournament with the participation of the Ukrainian national team is scheduled for the end of February 2024. Our team will compete with the Israeli team. The Israelis missed the opening two matches in our qualifying quartet due to well-known events in their country.

The winners and second places of the groups, as well as the four best teams that will take third places, will qualify for the 2024 European Championship. Qualification, which started on October 11, will end on April 7, 2024.

The final stage of the 2024 European Championship will be held in November-December 2024 in Basel (Switzerland), Innsbruck (Austria) and Debrecen (Hungary).
