Maccabi Haifa asked UEFA to postpone the match with Villarreal in the Europa League

The match of the third round of Group F is scheduled for October 26

Maccabi Haifa appealed to UEFA with a request to postpone the match from Villarreal in the third round of the group round Europa League.

The general director of the Israeli club asked in a letter to move the match to a free date in November. UEFA has not yet responded to Maccabi’s request.

Previously, UEFA postponed two matches of the Israeli national team in qualifying for Euro 2024. The Israelis plan to play a “home” match with Switzerland on November 15, the meeting place will be determined later. Israel’s away match with Kosovo has been postponed indefinitely.

Let us remind you that UEFA announced the indefinite postponement of a number of matches of Israeli teams of different ages scheduled for the next two weeks due to the “current security situation.” It was reported that the Israeli government does not allow athletes to leave Israeli territory.

Maccabi is in last place in Group F of the Europa League with one point. The away match for the Israelis with Villarreal is scheduled for October 26. Then, in the fourth round of the Europa League, Maccabi is scheduled to host the Yellow Submarine on November 11th.
