A Kenyan athlete has been disqualified for 10 years for anti-doping rule violations and collusion with a doctor.

Kenyan runner Titus Ekiru has been suspended for 10 years for anti-doping rule violations, according to a statement on the Athletics Integrity Unit website.

The Kenyan marathoner’s ineligibility period begins on June 28, 2022. All of Ekiru’s results since May 16, 2021 have been voided.

The statement said Ekiru was in cahoots with one of the Kenyan doctors, who repeatedly gave false information about the 31-year-old athlete’s test results.

In 2021, Ekiru passed positive doping tests twice – after winning the Milan Marathon and after winning the Abu Dhabi Marathon.
