Athletistic / Others. Russian Sofia Pozdnyakova, double Olympic fencing champion, has regained her maiden name. In September 2022, she divorced from the famous fencer Konstantin Lokhanov.
“Pozdniakova, welcome back. I won’t change my last name anymore, thank you,” Sofia wrote on her social media page, attaching a photo with a new passport.
The couple Pozdnyakova and Lokhanvova broke up after Konstantin left for the United States and made a number of political statements. Note that Sofia is the daughter of the president of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov.
Sofia Pozdnyakova won gold medals in the individual and team saber competitions at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
