Ukrainian national team won a difficult victory over Malta in an away qualifying match European Championship 2024 – 3:1.

The guests had more possession of the ball, but the Maltese often threatened the blue-and-yellows’ goal on counterattacks. One of them ended in a goal – Paul Mbong managed to break past the central defenders and shot, and Trubin hesitantly reacted to the striker’s shot.

The Ukrainian national team managed to get even in the first half – Georgy Sudakov shot wide of the goal, but the ball was cut into the net by Ryan Camenzuli. And five minutes later, Artem Dovbik converted the penalty, which was awarded for a foul against Mikhail Mudryk.

The tough fight continued after the break. Ukraine was able to remove the question of victory only at the end – Mudryk made a magnificent strike.

The Ukrainian team scored 13 points. The blue-and-yellows are in second place in Group C. England is in the lead, Italy remains in third place. Squadra Azzurra has 10 points, but played one match less than Sergei Rebrov’s team.

In their final match, Ukraine will play against Italy on November 20. The blue-yellows will play their home match in Leverkusen.
