Athletistic/Other. Sports ministers from more than 30 countries are demanding that Russia and Belarus be suspended from international sports federations, as well as Russian and Belarusian officials removed from leadership positions in these federations.

According to Poland’s Sports and Tourism Minister Kamil Bortnichuk, the joint statement was signed by ministers from all EU countries except Bulgaria and Hungary. They were joined by sports ministers from the United States, Canada, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea and Norway. He also noted that he expects ministers from Iceland and Liechtenstein to join them, while Switzerland remains neutral.

Bortnichuk also believes that national and international sports organizations should consider suspending the broadcast of their sports competitions in Russia and Belarus.
