CAS rejected the Russian cycling team’s appeal against its ban from international competitions

In March 2022, the International Cycling Union revoked the license of the team sponsored by Gazprom

Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, upheld the suspension of the Russian cycling team Gazprom-RusVelo from official international competitions.

In March 2022, quickly responding to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, International Cycling Union (UCI) revoked the license of a team sponsored by a Russian state corporation.

Gazprom-RusVelo appealed to Lausanne, but it failed.

Let us remind you that at the end of September, CAS disqualified the Russian wrestler Gadisov for 4 years for doping.

Earlier, former Ukrainian football player Anatoly Tymoshchuk filed a lawsuit against the UAF in the same court.

In the early hours of February 24, 2022, Russia launched rocket and air strikes on most Ukrainian cities and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The Russian war against Ukraine has continued for the 603rd day.
