Blancos intend to keep the Ukrainian until the end of the season due to Thibaut Courtois’ injury
Ukrainian goalkeeper of Madrid Real Madrid Andrey Lunin added to the list of interests Celtic.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are looking for a long-term successor to Joe Hart, with Celtic scouts keeping an eye on the Ukrainian. It is reported that Blancos plans do not include selling the goalkeeper in the winter transfer window due to Thibaut Courtois’ serious injury. Real are counting on Lunin as Kepa Arrizabalaga’s backup and will be ready to let the Ukrainian go at the end of the season after Andrey’s contract expires.
Earlier, Lunin said that playing for Madrid was his childhood dream. The goalkeeper was thinking about leaving in the summer of 2023 due to poor playing practice, but did not receive enough serious offers.
Lunin has been playing for Real Madrid since 2018. This season, the Ukrainian played two matches for Blancos, one of which he kept a clean sheet.
Celtic are top of the Scottish Premier League. Real takes first place in La Liga. Blancos’ next match will be away to Sevilla on October 21.
