Lydia Chaurskaya, multiple winner of the RSFSR championships, died at the age of 101, according to the official website of the All-Russian Athletics Federation (ARAF).
Chaurskaya died on Tuesday, October 17.
In 1951, Chaurskaya won silver in the high jump at the World Festival of Youth and Students. She has 11 gold medals at the RSFSR championships in 80m hurdles, relay races, high jump and long jump. In addition, Chaurskaya is a several-time winner of the USSR championships.
In 1990, the Presidium of the ARAF awarded Chaurskaya the honorary title of “Veteran of the ARAF” with a badge.
