The Ukrainian paired with the Hungarian Babos won two matches in a day
Ukrainian tennis player Katerina Volodko made it to the final of the doubles tournament ITF W100 in Chinese Zhengzhou.
Our compatriot played four matches in less than a day and a half. Yesterday, October 19, Katerina in singles first managed to cope with Clara Vlasselaar from Belgium, but then was dramatically eliminated by the seventh seeded Judis Chong of the tournament, representing Hong Kong.
Today, Volodko, having switched to doubles, successfully performed in a duet with Timea Babos, a representative of Hungary, twice in a row.
First, Katerina and Timea easily beat the Georgian-Turkish pair Sofia Shapatava / Eli Yoruk, and then in three sets they were stronger than the Taiwanese-Chinese duo Yen Shuo Liang / Qianui Tan.
In the final, Volodko and Babos will compete with the tandem of Kristina Mladenovic (France) / Moyuka Uchijima (Japan), the first seeds in the doubles.
Let us remind you that earlier Timea Babos, paired with another Ukrainian Lyudmila Kichenok, reached the quarterfinals of the WTA tournament in the same Zhengzhou.
