Athletistic/Others. On the second day of competition at the BRICS Games in South Africa, Russian athletes won six gold medals, two silvers and one bronze.

In swimming, gold medals were won by Evgenia Chikunova (breaststroke, 50 m), Roman Akimov (freestyle, 200 m), Georgy Glazunov (breaststroke, 100 m), Vlada Eggi (backstroke, 100 m), Daria Klepikova (freestyle, 100 m). m).m), as well as a 4x100m freestyle relay team (Roman Akimov, Anastasia Markova, Alexey Tkachev, Daria Klepikova).

In swimming, silver medals were won by Andrey Volkov (butterfly, 50m) and Anastasia Markova (freestyle, 100m).

In badminton in team competitions, the bronze medalists were Maria Golubeva, Alena Koroleva and Vladislav Dobychkin, Gleb Stepakov.

In total, over two days of competition, the Russian team won 17 gold, four silver and two bronze medals.

The BRICS Games take place from October 18 to 21. Around 450 athletes from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa are participating. The Russian national team is represented by 34 athletes in the six sports presented in the program: swimming, tennis, badminton, beach volleyball, table tennis, sports for people with musculoskeletal disabilities (disciplines – table tennis and wheelchair tennis ).
